The Minnesota Twins have signed left-hander Martin Perez to a one-year contract that includes a club option for 2020, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
He'll be paid $3.5 million, according to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports.
Perez, 27, is coming off an injury-plagued campaign, and the Texas Rangers declined his $7.5-million team option for 2019. Over 85 1/3 innings as a starter and reliever, he posted a 6.22 ERA and 5.72 FIP. Perez suffered a right elbow injury while working with a bull on his ranch in December 2017 that caused him to miss all of May and June in 2018.
Perez is the latest addition to a Minnesota club that's been making moves throughout the offseason, notably also adding sluggers Nelson Cruz and C.J. Cron.
