Colorado Rockies All-Star outfielder David Dahl was carted off the field after suffering a nasty-looking right ankle injury while trying to catch a ball during Friday's contest against the San Francisco Giants.

Dahl suffered an ankle sprain and more tests will be done Saturday, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post, who reports a stint on the injured list is likely.

The 25-year-old has had some bad injury luck in the past, missing the entire 2017 season with a stress reaction in a rib that led to a separate back injury. He was out of action for several months in 2018 with a fractured right foot after fouling a pitch off of it.

He also missed eight games earlier this year with a core injury.

Dahl was named to his first All-Star team in July. The former first-round pick entered Friday's contest hitting .302/.353/.526 with 15 home runs and 61 RBIs.
