Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant is using Players' Weekend to raise awareness for spinal cord research.
Bryant will be breaking out customized cleats and bats that will be auctioned off next month to benefit Wings For Life, a spinal cord research foundation that he's supported since entering MLB in 2015. Bryant's close friend, former All-American high school baseball player Cory Hahn, was paralyzed while sliding into second base during a game in 2011.
The cleats and bats were customized by Chicago street artists AFROKILLA, ELLO, and Blake Jones. Each design tells a different story inspired by Bryant's childhood memories.
