Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Tim Mayza suffered a torn UCL and will undergo Tommy John surgery, manager Charlie Montoyo announced Saturday, according to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet.
Not only does this end Mayza's season, it likely rules him out for 2020 as well.
Mayza suffered the injury Friday night. He collapsed to the ground after throwing a pitch to New York Yankees infielder Didi Gregorius and was then removed from the game.

Mayza later underwent an MRI that revealed the severity of the injury.
The 27-year-old served as one of Toronto's regulars out of the bullpen. He posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 51 1/3 innings.
