Twenty-one new charges were filed against suspended Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Felipe Vazquez on Tuesday after investigators said they found child pornography on devices he owned, according to Rich Cholodofsky of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The new charges include 10 counts of child pornography, 10 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, and one count of corruption of a minor. He's expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Pennsylvania.
Police seized an iPhone XS and Apple MacBook Pro belonging to Vazquez, according to court documents. Police said they found seven photographs and three videos showing a girl "in various stages of nudity" on the devices. Vazquez asked the girl for the photos and videos, according to investigators.
Vazquez was arrested in September on charges including pornography, soliciting a child, and statutory sexual assault after allegations that he had developed a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl residing in Lee County, Florida. He admitted to Pennsylvania police that he tried to have sex with the girl, according to a criminal complaint.
The 28-year-old faces charges in both Florida and Pennsylvania. On Tuesday, a Pennsylvania judge denied a request from Florida prosecutors to extradite him to Lee County. Vazquez is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison in Greensburg.
