The Seattle Mariners agreed to a deal with right-handed reliever Carl Edwards Jr., reports MLB.com's Greg Johns.
Edwards will receive $950,000 in 2020, with $500,000 in possible incentives, according to Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.
The 28-year-old struggled last season, authoring a 5.87 ERA in 20 games for the Cubs before they traded him to the San Diego Padres in July.
The right-hander then allowed six earned runs and four walks in two outings before he was placed on the injured list with a right shoulder strain.
Edwards was a generally reliable member of the Cubs' bullpen, posting a 3.30 ERA and 1.07 WHIP with 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings across 192 appearances for the team.
