Report: Roughly 50-50 chance Arenado gets traded

The Colorado Rockies are increasingly likely to deal their superstar third baseman.

Nolan Arenado has a roughly 50-50 chance of being traded and at least six teams have checked in with the Rockies regarding the seven-time Gold Glove winner's availability, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

Morosi adds that the Los Angeles Dodgers are not the most likely trade partner due to the Rockies' unwillingness to deal Arenado within the division.

Colorado wants a young, dynamic right-handed-hitting center fielder, among other players, in order to make a trade, according to Morosi.

The Rockies and Arenado agreed to an eight-year, $260-million contract extension last winter that includes a full no-trade clause and an opt-out following the 2021 season.

Arenado, 28, hit .315/.379/.583 with 41 home runs over 155 games last year. The five-time All-Star has appeared in at least 155 games for five straight seasons, posting a .937 OPS over that span and finishing no lower than eighth in MVP voting.

The Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves have reportedly shown interest in Arenado, while the Washington Nationals are pursuing trade options as contingency plans in the event Josh Donaldson signs elsewhere, according to Morosi.
