Major League Baseball's investigation into the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scheme is ongoing, and Carlos Correa revealed he's already had his interview with the league in a conversation with the media on Saturday.

"It was pretty surprising to wake up to that news (in November)," Correa told Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle regarding rumors the Astros stole signs from their opponents. "I cooperated with MLB, like we've all been doing, so we can put an end to all of this and all this talk and move forward."

Following the 2019 World Series, allegations that the 2017 championship squad had deployed an elaborate scheme to steal signs and relay it to their own hitters mounted. Soon after, the league had lodged an investigation against Houston, quickly expanding the probe to include multiple seasons as well as other teams.

Not many players have commented publicly on the investigation, but Oakland Athletics right-hander Mike Fiers, who was a member of the 2017 Astros team, was surprisingly candid in confirming the allegations; he stated that Houston used a center-field camera to electronically steal signs before banging on a trash can in the dugout to relay the pitch choice to the hitter.

"He's a grown man and he can do whatever he wants to do," Correa added regarding Fiers' comments. "Knowing Fiers, it was surprising because we were a team ... We were all together and we had a bond and we won a World Series championship. But this is America. The land of the free. You can say what you want to say."

When asked more directly about whether what Fiers said was accurate, Correa neither confirmed nor denied, reiterating that he "cooperated with MLB," while adding that's "something we can't discuss anymore."

While the Astros shortstop made the comments during an autograph session also attended by Alex Bregman and George Springer, the other two stars refused to comment on the matter.
