Bauer, McCullers exchange Twitter barbs amid Astros' sign-stealing scandal
Cincinnati Reds right-hander Trevor Bauer is savoring the moment.
Bauer, ever the internet troll, wished Houston Astros hurler Lance McCullers Jr. a happy new year on Twitter.

While that seems innocuous enough, the timing comes on the same day Major League Baseball announced its findings that the Astros were guilty of stealing signs dating back to 2017, which ultimately cost general manager Jeff Luhnow and skipper AJ Hinch their jobs.
McCullers didn't take kindly to the jab after Bauer's former teammate Mike Clevinger responded.
Rent free ๐๐๐. I donโt even know this cat โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ

Apparently wanting to get the last word, Bauer hit back.

More directly related to the Astros' scandal, Bauer earlier tweeted an old video of Hinch saying he rolls his eyes at the allegations.

Barring a trade of either competitor, fans will have to settle for continued antics on Twitter for the time being as the Reds and Astros won't face off during the 2020 regular season.
