Report: Helton sentenced to 2 days in prison for 2019 DUI

Todd Helton was sentenced to two days in prison plus one year of probation after pleading guilty to a 2019 misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, according to TMZ.

Helton, 46, was arrested March 18, 2019, after crashing his vehicle into a telephone pole in Knoxville, Tennessee. Helton was the only person involved in the crash. He was taken to hospital, according to Kyle Newman of the Denver Post, and later entered a substance abuse program.

In addition to two days in prison plus 11 months and 29 days of probation, Helton was ordered to pay a $350 fine.

Helton spent his entire 17-year career as a member of the Colorado Rockies. The franchise retired his jersey during the 2014 season and he holds a host of club records including most homers (369), games played (2,247), and hits (2,519).

The five-time All-Star is currently on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot and received 29.2% support for enshrinement this past winter in his second year of eligibility.
