The 2006 National League Championship Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets was so tightly contested that it came down to the ninth inning of Game 7 at Shea Stadium.
The two teams entered the final frame tied 1-1 before Yadier Molina's two-run homer put the Cardinals up by two heading into the bottom of the ninth. Then-rookie Adam Wainwright was tasked with getting the final three outs with a World Series berth on the line.
