The Texas Rangers earned their second consecutive World Series berth in 2011 by conquering the Detroit Tigers in six games. The turning point of the entire series came at the conclusion of Game 2.

After winning the first game, the Rangers took a commanding 2-0 series lead when Nelson Cruz broke a 3-3 deadlock in the bottom of the 11th with a walk-off grand slam. Cruz went yard twice in the game, and six times in the series to earn American League Championship Series MVP honors.
