David Wells jokes that Schilling was most disliked by other players
Warning: Story contains coarse language
David Wells isn't shy to speak his mind.
On Wednesday night, the veteran of 21 MLB seasons was asked which player from his era was most disliked by his peers. His answer was quick and to the point.

On Thurday afternoon, it received a predictable response from the former ace.
At least tag me ya little bitch https://t.co/rlXsi3jrKx

Lenny Dykstra, Schilling's former teammate on the Philadelphia Phillies, came to his defense. Given a few hours between tweets, Schilling calmed his stance and acknowledged that Wells, with whom he briefly played with in Boston, was likely just messing with him.
I'm pretty sure Boomer was just trying to get a rise out of me. As a guy who ended every single story with "I'll knock him the fuck out", well everyone knows that guy. :) https://t.co/U8XzCBpDxL

Ever the prankster admitted this to be the case while saying that Jose Canseco may actually hold the title of most disliked.
Lol. He wasn’t the most hated guy. I’d say Canseco. I wanted to get a rise out of CS https://t.co/o73LFhjx77

Wells also said he holds no personal ill will toward Schilling, tweeting he generally got along with him and another mercurial figure of the time in Barry Bonds.
Bonds rubbed a lot of people wrong. It we got a long. Schilling Rubbed people wrong we got a long But when you hear players and fans talk those names came up. Canseco sold a lot of people out but. I pretty much got a long with every. The old saying is pick your own friends https://t.co/8OWioTnsUf
