Phillies select prep ace Mick Abel No. 15 overall

With the 15th pick of the 2020 MLB Draft, the Philadelphia Phillies selected Mick Abel, a pitcher out of Jesuit High School in Oregon.
The tall right-hander is the first high schooler out of Oregon to hear his name called in the first round since 1994, when the Kansas City Royals took two-way prep star Matt Smith 16th overall.
Abel is the first high school pitcher to be selected in this year's draft.
