Braves to place Acuna on IL with wrist injury
The injuries keep coming for the Atlanta Braves.
Ronald Acuna Jr. will be retroactively placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a wrist ailment, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. The outfielder will be eligible to return Aug. 21.
"We're just going to make sure we get that thing cleared all the way up and he can go the rest of the (season)," Braves manager Brian Snitker said. "It's not a setback. We just didn't know how he was going to respond."
Snitker added: "It's still sore and there's no sense pushing him."
Acuna has not played since Monday due to inflammation and discomfort in his left wrist. He was hitting .258/.372/.515 with four home runs, five doubles, and 25 strikeouts in 18 games before the injury.
Matt Adams, Ozzie Albies, Mike Soroka, and Cole Hamels are all sidelined due to injuries for the Braves.
