San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham has a broken hamate bone in his hand, manager Jayce Tingler told MLB Network Radio's Jim Duquette on Monday.

He's expected to miss four-to-six weeks after the Padres placed him on the 10-day injured list Monday afternoon.

Pham exited Sunday's loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the ninth inning after fouling off a pitch and then experiencing numbness in his hand.

The 32-year-old has struggled to a .207/.316/.293 slash line so far this season, his first with the Padres.

Pham is tied for the major-league lead in steals with six.

In addition to losing Pham, the Padres also placed catcher Francisco Mejia on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb contusion and recalled infielder Ty France and catcher Luis Torrens.
