All 18 Marlins who tested positive for COVID-19 cleared to return
The Miami Marlins are back to full health as all 18 members of the roster who tested positive for COVID-19 have been cleared to resume baseball activities and assigned to the alternate training site, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.
That list of players includes Sandy Alcantara, Caleb Smith, Jose Urena, Miguel Rojas, and Jorge Alfaro.
"Obviously, it's good to get guys working out again," manager Don Mattingly told Frisaro. "I don't have much else to say about that other than it's good to have them working out, and they're at least healthy virus-wise and they've gotten past that."
The Marlins had their 2020 season interrupted by a coronavirus outbreak on July 27, resulting in 13 postponements over 11 days. The club resumed their season on Aug. 7 needing to make a flurry of roster moves to field a team.
Miami enters Monday's game with a 9-6 record, sitting atop the NL East.
