The Cleveland Indians are recalling right-hander Zach Plesac from the alternate training site to replace the departed Mike Clevinger in their rotation, according to Joe Noga of Cleveland.com.
Plesac will start Tuesday in Kansas City.
The Indians optioned Plesac and Clevinger after they violated protocols by going out with friends during a road trip in Chicago. Clevinger eventually returned to make one more start for Cleveland before he was traded to the San Diego Padres earlier Monday.
The 25-year-old Plesac owns a 1.29 ERA through three starts this season.
