Miami Marlins outfielder Harold Ramirez was carted off the field after suffering a leg injury while trying to beat out a grounder during the fifth inning of Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.
A hamstring strain was the resulting diagnosis, according to Craig Mish of MLB Network.
After putting a chopper into play off of left-hander Blake Snell with two out, Ramirez ran toward first before pulling up short of the bag, being thrown out, and collapsing. Trainers tended to the 25-year-old and, following a brief delay, Tropicana Field staff removed him from the field.
Ramirez was appearing in his first game since July 25 after spending time on the COVID-19 injured list.
