Atlanta possesses the only positive run differential in the division and has legitimate award contenders in NL MVP candidate Freddie Freeman and Cy Young threat Max Fried.
The Braves' current run of division titles is their longest such streak since they won 11 straight from 1995-2005. Their 20th division title is also the most in MLB history.
Atlanta has not won a playoff series since 2001, when the club swept the Houston Astros in the NLDS.
