MLB announces limited ticket sales for NLCS, World Series in Texas
For the first time in 2020, fans will be able to watch a Major League Baseball game in person.
The league announced Wednesday it will sell a limited number of tickets to National League Championship Series and World Series contests at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Approximately 11,500 tickets will be made available for each game. About 10,550 fans will be spread throughout the stadium's seating area, with another 950 in suites.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, tickets are being sold in "pods" of four seats that can't be separated. All seating pods will be a minimum of six feet from one another, and no seats within 20 feet of players will be occupied. Masks will be mandatory, except when fans are eating or drinking.
Tickets will go on sale on Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. ET.
Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, opened this summer. Due to the pandemic, this will be the first time fans are allowed inside the facility.
When the World Series gets going in Arlington on Oct. 20, it will be the first neutral-site Fall Classic in modern history. The 2020 World Series will also be the first one played entirely at one site since 1944 when the St. Louis Cardinals and Browns met at Sportsman's Park.
