Marlins pick up Marte's $12.5M option for 2021

The Miami Marlins exercised outfielder Starling Marte's $12.5-million team option for the 2021 season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Marte hit .245/.286/.415 with four home runs, 13 RBIs, and five steals for the Marlins after they acquired him from the Arizona Diamondbacks in August.
Overall, the 32-year-old slashed .281/.340/.430 with six homers, 27 RBIs, and 10 steals in 61 regular-season games with the Marlins and Diamondbacks.
He missed the National League Division Series after fracturing a bone in his left hand during the wild-card round against the Chicago Cubs.
The one-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner owns a career .287/.341/.450 slash line with 114 home runs, 447 RBIs, and 249 steals across nine big-league seasons.
