The Cincinnati Reds traded closer Raisel Iglesias and cash to the Los Angeles Angels for right-hander Noe Ramirez and a player to be named later, the clubs announced Monday.

Iglesias, 30, has saved 106 games for the Reds since 2016. The Cuban right-hander owns a 3.15 ERA and 10.5 K/9 in six seasons, all with Cincinnati.

Trading Iglesias allows the Reds to "reallocate resources to use on different things," general manager Nick Krall said, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Bobby Nightengale.

"This is not a sign there is more to come," Krall added. "I think we're just looking at everything as a one-off and trying to make the best decisions as they come up and do the best we can with allocating our payroll the best we can."

Iglesias is under contract for one more season before becoming a free agent. He'll earn $9.125 million in salary.

Ramirez, 30, had pitched for the Angels since 2017. He recorded a 4.04 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 151 outings for Los Angeles.

Ramirez is not eligible for free agency until 2024. He's projected to earn between $1.1 million-$1.2 million in arbitration, according to MLB Trade Rumors.

The Angels have been busy, reportedly signing pitcher Jake Faria on Sunday and acquiring shortstop Jose Iglesias from the Baltimore Orioles on Dec. 2.
