Eric Thames is taking his services to Japan.
The 34-year-old announced he signed with the Yomiuri Giants on Wednesday.
His deal is a one-year, $1.2-million pact, according to a Google translation of a Yahoo Japan report.
Thames spent 2020 with the Washington Nationals, hitting .203/.300/.317 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in 41 games.
The slugger hit 72 homers over three seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2017-19.
Before returning to the majors in 2017, Thames made a name for himself overseas with the Korean Baseball Organization. He batted .349/.451/.721 with 124 homers and 382 RBIs for the NC Dinos from 2014-18.
Yomiuri is also reportedly finalizing a deal with another former Brewers first baseman, Justin Smoak.
