Marlins trade Dickerson, Cimber to Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson, right-handed reliever Adam Cimber, and cash considerations from the Miami Marlins for infielder Joe Panik and minor-league right-hander Andrew McInvale, the Blue Jays announced on Tuesday.
The Blue Jays acquiring Corey Dickerson and Adam Cimber from Miami was actually them targeting Cimber and taking Dickerson’s money as the price for the RHP. Toronto strikes early in getting a solid reliever and paid about $4.5 million — Dickerson’s remaining salary — to do so.

Dickerson is hitting .260/.321/.377 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 224 plate appearances this season. The left-handed hitter owns an .847 career OPS against right-handed pitchers.
The 32-year-old is currently on the injured list with a left foot contusion and is expected to be in a walking boot for a couple more weeks before he can join Toronto's lineup.
Cimber, meanwhile, gives Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo another option out of the bullpen. The 30-year-old submarine pitcher owns a 2.88 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings this season and hasn't allowed a home run in 2021. He's also under club control through 2024.
Adam Cimber's a right-handed sidearmer who's tough on RHB.
