Bauer demonstrates natural stickiness of rosin and sweat
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Trevor Bauer has some opinions about Major League Baseball's plan to police the application of foreign substances to baseballs.
The outspoken All-Star took to Twitter to pose a hypothetical question:
The stickiness Bauer achieved was done by using a combination of rosin - which is still available to pitchers on the mound - and his own sweat, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.
Bauer has been one of the players at the center of MLB's attempt to enforce rules related to the use of sticky substances. Several baseballs thrown by Bauer were confiscated and submitted for testing in an early April start, though this was common practice at several games.
The reigning NL Cy Young winner tweeted Tuesday that he's actually in favor of the league cracking down on violations, but one of his issues is the league ignored the problem for so long.
