The Oakland Athletics turned a strange double play against the New York Yankees on Saturday after Gio Urshela got fragments from a shattered bat into his eye.
Urshela broke his bat on an 89-mph cutter from A's starter Chris Bassitt in the second inning and was slow to run to first before the double play occurred.
The Yankees third baseman appeared to be OK and remained in the game.
