Struggling Chapman: I still have 'many mouths to shut up'

New York Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman made sure to let the public know Tuesday that he's ready to turn things around this season.

Chapman is in the midst of one of the worst stretches of his career. His ERA since June 10 is 22.24, and he's allowed 10 earned runs, nine walks, and two home runs over his last five appearances.

His struggles have led to criticism from a tough New York fan base that has called for him to be removed from the ninth-inning role.

After Chapman was booed off the field during the first game of a July 4 doubleheader, Yankees manager Aaron Boone wouldn't commit to using the 33-year-old as closer during future games.

"We'll continue to talk through that," Boone said, per YES Network. "Obviously, we've got another important one right now. That'll be something that we talk (about), you know, after these games."

Chapman, who was recently named an American League All-Star, owns a 4.71 ERA with 16 saves and 49 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings. He allowed one earned run over his first 20 outings this season.
