The Los Angeles Angels added some outfield depth Wednesday, agreeing to a major-league contract with veteran Adam Eaton, according to MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Right-hander Dillon Peters was designated for assignment to make room for Eaton on the 40-man roster, according to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

The Chicago White Sox released Eaton on Monday, less than a week after he was DFA'd. The 32-year-old signed a one-year, $8-million deal with Chicago in the offseason but didn't live up to expectations, posting a career-low .642 OPS with five homers and 28 RBIs over 58 games with the South Siders.

In Anaheim, Eaton will provide the Angels with an extra left-handed bat who is capable of playing all three outfield spots. The Halos are missing several outfielders due to injuries, including Mike Trout, who remains on the 60-day injured list with a calf strain.

Eaton is a .278/.356/.412 hitter for his career with 65 homers, 317 RBIs, and 86 stolen bases across parts of 10 seasons. He also helped the Washington Nationals claim a World Series title in 2019.
