George Springer only needed a couple weeks in Canada to make some Toronto Blue Jays history.

The star outfielder capped another red-hot seven-day stretch by being named American League Player of the Week on Monday. Springer, who also won the award last week, is the first Blue Jays player to take home the honor in consecutive weeks.

Springer hit .364/.389/.788 with three homers, seven extra-base hits, 11 RBIs, and nine runs scored during the Blue Jays' eight games this week. He capped off the remarkable run with a dramatic go-ahead, three-run homer on Sunday that completed a remarkable comeback against the Boston Red Sox.

This is the fourth time Springer has won the weekly honor in his career.

Colorado Rockies first baseman C.J. Cron took home the National League Player of the Week honor. Cron, a first-time winner of this award, slashed .556/.636/1.278 with four homers and 16 RBIs over the Rockies' five games last week. Included in that run was a pair of multi-homer games and his third grand slam of the season.
