MLB playoffs to begin Oct. 5

The MLB postseason will start Oct. 5, the league announced Wednesday.
The 2021 regular season ends Oct. 3, and any tiebreaker games will take place Oct. 4.
Here are the key dates for the playoffs:

Each league's two division series will begin on the same day.
