Dodgers remove Justin Turner from NLCS roster due to injury

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Thursday that Justin Turner was removed from the NLCS roster after the third baseman suffered a hamstring injury in Game 4, according to the Los Angeles Times' Jorge Castillo.

Turner hobbled off the field during Wednesday's loss to the Atlanta Braves after trying to beat out a ground ball. He was assisted into the team's clubhouse by teammate Albert Pujols and later diagnosed with a Grade 2 strain.

Because the 36-year-old Turner was removed from the NLCS roster, he's ineligible to return for the World Series should the Dodgers make it.

Turner was replaced on the roster by versatile infielder Andy Burns, who's a right-handed hitter.

Chris Taylor will start Game 5 at third base in Turner's absence.
