Dodgers tab Scherzer for must-win Game 6
The Los Angeles Dodgers will turn back to three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer for Saturday's must-win Game 6 against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park, manager Dave Roberts said, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
Scherzer left NLCS Game 2 after allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out seven over 4 1/3 innings. Following the loss, the veteran right-hander explained that he was suffering from dead arm. "I'm just tired," he said.
The eight-time All-Star is expected to garner Cy Young consideration once again this offseason after authoring a 2.46 ERA and 2.97 FIP over 179 1/3 innings.
Scherzer is slated to oppose rookie Ian Anderson in Game 6. The Braves righty posted a 3.58 ERA and 4.12 FIP in 24 starts.
Atlanta currently boasts a 3-2 series lead, holding home-field advantage for the final two games.
