Report: Dodgers, Red Sox among 6 teams interested in Taylor
Chris Taylor's versatility has made him a popular free-agent target this winter with at least a half dozen teams interested in signing the 31-year-old, including the Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox, sources told MLB.com's Juan Toribio.
The Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and others are also eyeing the veteran utility player, according to Toribio's sources.
Taylor appeared in 148 games for the Dodgers last season, hitting .254/.344/.438 with 20 home runs, 25 doubles, 73 RBIs, and 13 steals.
The veteran infielder/outfielder also played six different positions for Los Angeles in 2021 and performed well on the big stage, hitting .476/.542/1.048 with three homers, nine RBIs, and three steals against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series. All three of Taylor's round-trippers against the Braves came in Game 5 of the NLCS.
In eight big-league campaigns, the Virginia native produced a .261/.337/.443 slash line with 79 homers, 309 RBIs, and 146 doubles in 743 games.
Taylor recently rejected a qualifying offer, meaning the Dodgers will receive draft-pick compensation should he sign with another club.
