Twins sign Bundy to 1-year deal

The Minnesota Twins announced Wednesday they've agreed to a one-year contract with right-hander Dylan Bundy.

Bundy will earn a $4-million base salary in 2022, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. The deal reportedly includes an $11-million club option for 2023 with a $1-million buyout.

Bundy spent the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Angels. He appeared to break out during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, earning a ninth-place finish in American League Cy Young voting after posting a career-best 3.29 ERA and 2.95 FIP. He came back to earth in 2021 with a 6.06 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over just 90 2/3 innings; that decline briefly cost him a spot in the Angels' rotation.

He'll look to bounce back as part of a Minnesota rotation that was among the worst in the majors last year.

The 29-year-old owns a career 46-57 record with a 4.72 ERA, 4.69 FIP, and 1.31 WHIP across 770 2/3 innings with the Angels and Baltimore Orioles.
