Yankees sign Ender Inciarte to minor-league deal
The New York Yankees signed outfielder Ender Inciarte to a minor-league deal, according to the team's transaction page.
A former All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner, the 31-year-old played with the Atlanta Braves last season before being designated for assignment and released. Inciarte hit .215/.276/.316 with two homers and one steal in 52 games for the Braves in 2021.
Inciarte owns a .716 OPS with 42 home runs and 118 stolen bases over his eight-year career.
Atlanta acquired Inciarte in 2015 as part of the Dansby Swanson blockbuster that sent Shelby Miller and a prospect to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Inciarte will add depth to a Yankees outfield that lacks mobile defenders, with Aaron Hicks sidelined due to wrist surgery and Brett Gardner potentially leaving via free agency.
After being released by the Braves, Inciarte spent some time in the Cincinnati Reds' minor-league system, hitting .288/.354/.339 over 15 games at Triple-A before being released again.
