The top of these rankings is stacked with players to build a team around. Soto grabs the top spot thanks to his all-around offensive brilliance. It feels strange to rank Trout so low, but there are question marks after an injury-plagued campaign. Though Buxton played just 61 games last season, he belted 19 home runs and could be in for a monster campaign if he can stay on the field. Yelich battled through a back injury in 2021, and he struggled to consistently get the ball in the air, but there could be real value in a former MVP outside the position's top 20.
