The World Baseball Classic will return in 2023, according to a list of MLB's plans for international play obtained by The Athletic's Evan Drellich.
The WBC's return will end a six-year hiatus for the international tournament that last took place in 2017. It also occurred in 2006, 2009, and 2013.
Japan has won the WBC twice (2006, 2009), while the Dominican Republic (2013) and the United States (2017) have each won the event once.
