After throwing three warmup pitches from the mound, Miller apparently wouldn't allow Jansen to continue due to the time it had already taken between innings. Jansen attempted to throw additional pitches but Miller wound up standing in between the mound and home plate.
Braves manager Brian Snitker was quick to come out of the dugout to ease the tension while Ron Washington also came out to cool Jansen down. The three-time All-Star eventually conceded and the Braves' infield formed a conference near the mound to help calm things down.

Former Braves reliever Peter Moylan broke down what happened following the game, with the Bally Sports broadcast showing that Jansen was asking for one additional warmup pitch before the argument began.
Catcher Manny Pina also weighed in following the game, stating that "Jansen was kind of mad."

The two-time NL Reliever of the Year winner successfully sealed the 5-2 victory at Petco Park, earning his second save with his new team. The right-hander pitched a clean frame with one strikeout.
Since signing a one-year, $16-million contract this past offseason, Jansen has allowed three runs on three hits and one walk over four innings while striking out five.
