Yankees' Gil to undergo Tommy John surgery
New York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on Tuesday, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Saturday, according to The Athletic's Lindsey Adler.
Gil suffered the injury during his start on Wednesday for the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate.
The news is very unfortunate but I am very grateful to God and I always will be because I know that God does everything with a purpose, you just have to have faith and keep your head up, this is not over, I will be back soon, thanks to all the fans I'm going to miss you ๐ฅบ๐๐๐ pic.twitter.com/4h5B1JGAkA

The 23-year-old made just one appearance for the Yankees this season, allowing four runs and notching five strikeouts across four innings against the Chicago White Sox on May 12.
Gil put together a strong campaign in 2021, registering a 3.07 ERA and 11.66 K/9 in 29 1/3 innings pitched.
