"The Padres are proud of our binational fanbase and the region we call home," the team, located minutes away from the border to Tijuana and the Baja California Peninsula, said.
The white jerseys with pastel highlights draw inspiration from the coastal community of San Diego, including the "ocean's white foam" and the "pink and yellow sunsets," according to the team's release.

Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and Padres starting pitcher Joe Musgrove, who both grew up in San Diego, are among those featured in the release video.
The Padres will debut the new jersey July 8 when they host the division-rival San Francisco Giants at Petco Park. The Giants are among 13 other teams to have City Connect uniforms, rolled out over the past two seasons. Nike is planning to eventually release jerseys for all 30 MLB teams.
