Braves trade Odorizzi to Rangers for Allard
The Atlanta Braves traded right-hander Jake Odorizzi and cash to the Texas Rangers for left-hander Kolby Allard, the teams announced Wednesday.
The Braves are sending $10 million as the cash consideration in the deal, sources told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Odorizzi returns to the American League West after beginning the 2022 campaign with the Houston Astros. The Braves acquired him in a trade with the Astros last August.
The veteran starter went 6-6 with a 4.40 ERA in 106 1/3 innings last season while earning $8 million. He's owed $12.5 million on a player option next year.
Allard reunites with the Braves, who drafted him 14th overall in 2015.
The 25-year-old was traded to Texas in 2019 and posted an 8-22 record with a 5.85 ERA across four seasons with the Rangers.
