Report: Mariners, Moore agree to 3-year, $8.875M extension

The Seattle Mariners and utility player Dylan Moore avoided arbitration by agreeing to a three-year, $8.875-million extension, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Moore's deal also includes a series of escalator clauses that could raise its total value above $9 million, according to Passan. The contract buys out his final two years of arbitration and delays his future free agency by one season.

The 30-year-old broke out as an important weapon on both sides of the ball for Seattle last season. Moore hit .224/.368/.385 across 104 games in 2022, with his OBP standing as a personal best and team high among Mariners hitters with 250 plate appearances. He also hit six home runs and stole 21 bases to help Seattle reach the playoffs.

One of the most versatile players in baseball, Moore started games at six different positions last year. He's appeared at every spot on the diamond except catcher at least once.

Moore, who made his big-league debut in 2019, is a lifetime .208/.317/.384 hitter with 35 homers, 112 RBIs, and 65 stolen bases across parts of four seasons.
