Here are the 2023 fantasy shortstop rankings for standard 5x5 leagues.

Why Turner's No. 1: The new Phillies shortstop is a fantasy manager's dream. He plays a lot, scores tons of runs, hits homers and RBIs, steals bases, does a terrific job of getting on base, and has the potential to win a batting title in any given year. Turner is not only the top option at shortstop but might be drafted No. 1 overall in some leagues.

Dark-horse pick: Henderson is a good dark-horse candidate after making an impact in limited duty with the Orioles following his call-up last season. MLB's top prospect has Rookie of the Year potential, thanks to an all-around game that should provide fantasy managers with homers, RBIs, hits, steals, and a high on-base percentage.

Player worth reaching for: Rosario isn't going to do much for managers in the on-base category, but he's got a pretty well-crafted game for fantasy, especially if your league includes triples. The Guardians shortstop, who also comes with outfield eligibility, led the league in three-baggers, hit for a solid .283 batting average, and added 11 homers, 71 RBIs, and 18 steals last campaign.
