Machado ejected after striking out on pitch-clock violation
San Diego Padres slugger Manny Machado was on the wrong end of the pitch clock again, this time leading to him being ejected.
Machado tried to call timeout during a first-inning at-bat against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday but didn't do so in time and was called out on strikes due to a pitch-clock violation. The strikeout ended the inning.

The 30-year-old didn't agree with home plate umpire Ron Kulpa's decision and was tossed for arguing.
This isn't the first time Machado has encountered problems with the pitch clock. He was the first player to earn an automatic strike with the new pitch clock rule during a spring training contest in February.
