Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa isn't very popular at Yankee Stadium, and despite that, the 28-year-old still enjoys the experience of playing in New York.

"It's a baseball atmosphere," Correa said, according to The Athletic's Dan Hayes. "Fans know the game. They know every player's name, they know their families, they know their wives, they know everything about the sport. To me, that's what I grew up loving about this game."

Correa is a lifetime .288/.341/.613 hitter over 20 regular-season appearances at Yankee Stadium. Yankees fans have repeatedly booed Correa since the revelation of the Houston Astros' cheating scandal.

Despite the consistent hostility towards him, Correa still relishes the high-energy atmosphere at one of baseball's marquee stadiums.

"Even if they boo me, even if they say whatever they say, for me, I love that," Correa said. "It's the atmosphere I want every single game."

Correa burned the Yankees during Friday's game, hitting a clutch two-run double off Yankees closer Clay Holmes in the top of the eighth inning to help the Twins rally for a 4-3 victory.

Correa is hitting .250 with a .793 OPS and a pair of home runs in his first 40 at-bats this season.
