Rockies manager Bud Black added postgame that Cron is likely headed for the injured list, according to Allentuck.
Cron popped out to second baseman Bryson Stott to end the third frame and seemed to hurt himself running out of the batter's box. After grimacing on the swing and walking a few feet, the former All-Star went down to one knee and was eventually helped off the field by training staff.
Mike Moustakas replaced Cron defensively at first base to start the fourth inning.
The 33-year-old Cron is hitting .228/.277/.426 with six homers through 36 games, including Sunday's action.
The Rockies already have German Marquez, Antonio Senzatela, Ryan Feltner, and Brendan Rodgers on the injured list, among others.
