Carlos Rodon is finally ready to make his New York Yankees debut.

The left-hander will start Friday's series opener against the Chicago Cubs, according to MLB.com. It'll be Rodon's first start for the Bronx Bombers since signing a six-year, $162-million deal in December.

"We're really excited to get Carlos back," manager Aaron Boone said Thursday, according to YES Network. "Feel like he's in a really good spot. Throwing the ball well. He's had a good month building up in live games and rehab games. Feel like he's in a good place and ready to go."

The 30-year-old struck out eight over 3 2/3 innings during a 58-pitch rehab start at High-A on Saturday.

Rodon has been on the 60-day injured list with a left elbow strain and back stiffness.

The two-time All-Star finished top six in AL and NL Cy Young voting the past two seasons, pitching for the Chicago White Sox in 2021 and the San Francisco Giants in 2022.
