The Texas Rangers placed shortstop Corey Seager on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb sprain, the team announced.
Seager said he thinks he'll be on the IL for only two weeks, according to Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today.
The four-time All-Star sprained his thumb sliding into second base during Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Seager has been terrific for the Rangers when healthy, hitting .350/.413/.631 with 15 homers, 29 doubles, and 58 RBIs in 66 games this season.
Texas recalled catcher Sam Huff from Triple-A to take Seager's spot on the active roster.
