Troncoso, who was placed on the 15-day DL on Saturday, was in the hospital overnight because of inflammation of the outer tissue of his heart, a condition called pericarditis, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
This is the second time the condition has befallen Troncoso, but it is likely a scary time for him, and we wish him a speedy recovery. According to the Mayo Clinic, pericarditis is usually a short-lived condition, so while the White Sox have yet to elaborate on Troncoso's condition, there is the possibility we see him back in the bullpen before season's end.
